White Sox release RHP Hume, 3 others
Chicago, IL -- In final moves in preparation for the winter meetings, the White Sox released 4 players who were to be arbitration eligible for the upcoming season. The most notable release was SP Glendon Hume. He had spent his whole career thus far with the organization, but the arbitration demands was too much to risk for the budget we have set. Also released were 1B Humberto Perez, 3B Raymond Monroe, and 3B Gerald Buckley. These moves currently put only RP Jesus Sosa remaining for arbitration, which the team looks to proceed rather than sign any long-term deal.
